SELECTED ENGAGEMENTS
More than 800 projects. More than a decade of delivery.
A selection of advisory engagements across complex facilities, critical infrastructure, and high-consequence environments. Force Protect supports federal, state, and local agencies, healthcare, utility, commercial, and private clients. Much of that work is confidential so the case studies below are only a sample.
THREAT & VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT
Multi-Building Federal Campus Security Master Plan
Comprehensive risk assessment and phased security roadmap for a 25+ building federal campus with no unified security framework.
Challenge
A federal campus with 25+ buildings lacked a unified security framework, with inconsistent perimeter controls, surveillance gaps, and unprotected utility corridors.
Approach
Force Protect surveyed every building, ranked critical targets, and evaluated priority threats across five protection layers using federal security design standards.
Result
The resulting master plan set out campus defense, standoff, lighting, surveillance, lockdown, and control-center priorities in a fiscally sequenced capital roadmap.
NEW BUILD & EXPANSION
Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Facility
Security design guidance for a new mobile imaging pad on a critical federal medical campus during planned renovations.
Challenge
A critical federal medical campus needed a mobile imaging pad that met physical-security and blast-protection standards without disrupting active operations.
Approach
We assessed vehicle ramming, explosives, active shooter, and utility-disruption threats, then developed standoff, utility protection, surveillance, lighting, and QAQC guidance.
Result
The construction package included blast-rated utility protection and panoramic night-vision surveillance with analytics, supporting full security compliance.
ENERGY & UTILITY PROTECTION
Campus Steam System Modernization
Security integrated from feasibility stage for a district steam-to-boiler conversion across a large federal campus.
Challenge
A large federal campus needed to replace aging district steam infrastructure without creating new vulnerabilities around gas lines, fuel storage, and boiler equipment.
Approach
Security was embedded in the feasibility phase, with mitigation options for critical targets including anti-ram protection, blast screens, and secure service yards.
Result
Early integration avoided costly redesign and carried gas-meter, enclosure, surveillance, and analytics requirements through each engineering milestone.
ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS
Correctional Treatment Facility
Full door control system replacement and unified command interface across five buildings in an active correctional environment.
Challenge
A five-building correctional treatment facility needed unified door control, video, intercom, and access control despite conditions that differed significantly from bid documents.
Approach
Force Protect provided QAQC across control diagrams, door assignments, intercom, CCTV, network infrastructure, and the full command-and-control architecture.
Result
The final design delivered new PLCs, touchscreen workstations, integrated video-wall capability, and unified control across every door, camera, and intercom.
BLAST & SEISMIC MITIGATION
Multi-Building Seismic Retrofit
Security continuity planning across a six-phase, multi-year seismic retrofit of eight high-risk federal buildings.
Challenge
Eight high-risk federal buildings required seismic retrofit across a six-phase, multi-year program while the campus remained in operation.
Approach
We reviewed each construction phase to identify emerging access, surveillance, and system-bypass gaps, then coordinated security requirements with the phasing plan.
Result
Security guidance became a dedicated project-book section, with transition plans that maintained continuous protection for occupied buildings through every phase.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Underground Utility Tunnel Beneath Public Roadway
Vulnerability assessment and blast mitigation for a new utility tunnel carrying critical systems beneath a public road.
Challenge
A new utility tunnel beneath a public road would carry critical systems while facing unauthorized-access and vehicle-blast exposure.
Approach
We developed vulnerability and blast-mitigation criteria for its burial depth, plus motion-activated surveillance at tunnel entrances connected to the Security Control Center.
Result
The design team adopted the criteria, updated outdated references, and selected purpose-built cameras that improved coverage while reducing equipment cost.
LAW ENFORCEMENT & CORRECTIONS
Campus-Wide Security and Police Operations Upgrade
Ground-up security overhaul with new police operations facilities, Security Control Center, and campus-wide independent security network.
Challenge
A large federal campus needed a ground-up overhaul with no centralized command capability, independent security network, or police facilities meeting current standards.
Approach
Force Protect led the work from risk assessment through blast modeling and QAQC, specifying ballistic protection, detention features, resilient control centers, and a dedicated network.
Result
The completed system provided redundant fiber paths, centralized command of surveillance and access systems, and purpose-built police operations facilities.
Many engagements are confidential. The project examples represent the kinds of work Force Protect is asked to lead.
